I prefer Photoshop hands down. I find GIMP extremely hard to use. I only really use Photoshop for basic stuff, cropping, adding stroke, finding colors that match well; medium level stuff. It works and does exactly what I need.

I going with Photoshop. I do a little bit more advanced stuff with it than bobbonew, but thats all the more reason for me to use Photoshop over GIMP.

GIMP is way too confusing to be honest. If I'm ever on my Linux computer and I need to get a photo worked on, I basically cry because I need to use GIMP.

I used to love GIMP before I met the resources of the internet. It was a nice and at that point easy to use program for what I needed and my signatures looked great unlike most. For some reason, the rest of you agree it seems, GIMP is a very user friendly program...until you get used to PS. Once you go down a step it just seems so much more confusing for some reason.
