Do you think facebooks popularity will go up or down over the next 10 years?

Kenbo: Do you think another website like facebook could take over? In my opinion, myspace was huge, then it kind of died. I know a lot of people still use it. My guess is facebook took a lot of myspace's users and they realized that myspace sucks and facebook is so much better. I haven't gone back to myspace. Its been way too long, I don't even remember my password.

It will go down. These social networking sites are going to gradually lose popularity and then die off.

I do agree that things tend to die out over time, especially in a time period such as ten years. But things that have gotten THIS big, it is hard to gauge. For example google, I do not think they will be dead in ten years. In all honestly pulling up facebook, I do want to say they aren't going to be gone in 10 years. Maybe lessened activity, but definitely not gone.

Well, Facebook is turning very generic. It does not specialize in certain areas like it once did. Before I believe it was really meant to be a network for college students or older adults. Now I think it also caters to high school and possibly middle school students. This is one of the reasons facebook was popular, you did not have to deal with the immature kiddos on the internet.

From what I can tell, Facebook is already losing its flare. People are annoyed by its changes in order to make it "better" and to extend its popularity. It is going to lose its original members in return for a few new members who will probably get bored with it.

Google, being a search engine and not a networking site really does not compare with Facebook.

My final note, the applications. I know there are some people that like those. But I know many people who really hate them. I am one of those people. Some of us can only really deal with those stupid little add-ons before we get fed up with them. It will probably remain sort of popular for the younger generations.

Down, I was angered when they stopped being exclusive to colleges.

With the massive amount of age groups logging on, I'd assume it will only continue to grow.
