Do you think new video games prices will go up or down due to the bad economy?

Kenbo: New games range from $50 to $60, which is a bit ridiculous.

Bad economies often mean that there is inflation in the market. People are not making enough money, therefore they are less likely to squander it on this or that. So companies notice their products are not selling as well. To make up for lost profits they jack up their prices. It really is a lose-lose situation.

People who are really "dedicated" to video games will still spend the cash to get whatever it is whenever it comes out. Other people like myself, will wait a bit longer and pay a cheaper price to get a used copy of the game. Sometimes the used copies are still fairly expensive though... (I have done double-takes on a used games priced at $55!)

I agree with the Nugget, however I think there will be a rise to modding and shared games.

Video games don't pop out of thin air. Try spending years programming a small portion of a video game and tell me that a mere $50-$60 is ridiculous.

but think about 50-60 adds up when millions are buying your game
