Why did people have such short life expectancy up until as recently as 100 years ago?Little Miss Curious: Was it that people died from common ailments that we now have medicine for? Id think they should have lived longer assuming they ate a better diet, and got more excercise, and less stress. |

No one used antiseptics or even hardly bothered to clean their hands. It is easy to spread disease when everyone walking around is dirty. |
