How do you think the world will react to humanity dying out?

Parasyte: A spin-off to my other question, what will happen to the Earth after we're gone?

There was a movie I saw about this thing. The trees and grass will spread and gradually grow over the concrete by uprooting and just spreading over. The sky scrapers will fall because of the lack of maintenance and wood houses will drop "quickly" because of bugs and the weather.

There will also be better adapted animals and more water.

All human made creations will go into decay. Natural order will kick in and plants and animals will start returning to areas which once were solely human habitats. Dogs, cats, and other heavily domesticated animals will either return to being feral or die off because they cannot survive. Any endangered species being strictly protected by humans will probably die.

I dunno, this is all strictly under the idea that humans die off. I mean, eventually humans will either 1.) Die off or 2.) Go through so much evolutionary change they are considered a newer species from their Homo sapiens sapiens primative brothers, which in a way is like saying that humans died off. Either way, I doubt we will be there for when it happens. Our species lives in the entire world. Everywhere! What could possibly happen to destroy all of us in one swoop? Sure, a majority can get cut down, but everyone? That seems unlikely.

I appreciate answers like this because they bring up the skepticism :). I don't really think it would be at all possible to just wipe out all humans in one swipe considering our varying levels of tolerance and what not. We could survive plenty of things that many species cannot, and thus they would be wiped out as well.

Ah, I cannot help it. If I think long enough on one subject, I eventually become skeptical of it. If I really want to be annoying I switch to nihilistic thought and start spouting that nothing exists. A one track mind is boring and predictable. Life is not either of these.

well, if we aren't actually here, everything will cease to exist, but otherwise the planet will go back into its usual cylcle of extreme to extreme trying reach a planet-wide type of homeo-stasis. This will occur until the core cools off completely or the sun expands and encompasses everything this side of the asteroid belt.

It really won't matter because if all people die then it's a good chance you'll be dead too.

Animals and plants don't seem to care if people are here or not right now, so pretending animals don't die but people do then animals probably won't care anymore than they do now.

As for dirt, fire, water, light and air I'll guess it won't make much of a difference to that stuff either.

I agree that when we become extinct the earth will no longer be fit to host other lifeforms.
