Has anyone had a bad experience with drive through car washes?Kenbo: Are they really safe for your car? I love my car, but I'm so lazy. I don't have time to wash and detail my car. I usually use a car wash in town. I haven't noticed anything hurting my car. But I'm scared one day it will. |

My grandmother often uses carwashes because she is older and that is the best way for her to clean her car. Well, one time she used a different wash than she normally uses and part of it caused some of her paint to be chipped around her side mirrors. I think that it may have been the wax that was used. So be careful of that. |

I'd recommend against it for older vehicles as well. A lot of the time chems in the air will cause the point to degrade and it just becomes kinda fragile.(the worst is when an airplane dumps its fuel above you..) |
