Well, it sleeps. Because it has stored up lots of weight through its eating, it will not need to get up and forage for food until the spring time. Its body's metabolism slows down quite a bit too during this time. It is not that it cannot wake up or that it does not wake up, because this could occur during its hibernation, but most likely it will sleep the majority of the time through until it needs more sustenance. |
