If you could be stranded on a desert island with 3 objects, what objects would you want to have?

A boat, fuel for the boat, and an oar in case that fails.

My laptop, my laptop charger, and anything that can create power.
And I'd bring my best friend, Cameron.

First object would be a lifetime supply of food. Second object would be a radio/ipod. Third object would be seeds to grow plants :). The person I would bring is definitely candy pants <3 :).

A boat. Fuel for the boat. A satellite phone. I wouldn't be stranded for very long. ;(

And I'd bring Keira Knightley. It's gonna be along boat ride, so I need something to do. :D

Or in this case, a someone.

Well, we are missing quite a few variables to this. I mean, how large is this island? Is it inhabited by any natives? What type of demographics are there? What is the weather like? Is it isolated far away from any other shorelines? How did I even get on this island? If by an accident of some sort, then am I injured? Am I suffering from any sort of amnesia? Really, the list goes on and on. It really makes it hard to determine anything as the entire situation is vague.
Furthermore the question states that you are stranded, thus that automatically rules out the possibility of anyone possessing a boat or another type of device which would allow one's self to get off the island. It continues to imply that perhaps this island is far from any other land.
I wonder what type of clothes I am wearing when I magically appear on this island. If this island is actually out somewhere very cold but all I have to wear is a tank top and shorts, then unless I ask for heavier clothing and fire, I am a goner for sure.

(Also for all of you who said you want a person as one of your OBJECTS... Tsk-tsk, we should have all learned by now that people are not things to claim ownership over. Also, is it really necessary to share your unfortunate misery on this unknown, vague, possibly deadly island with someone your supposedly hold a special place in your heart with. Now that is just darn cruel...)

Stranded on a desert island means you're the only person there. I think that makes the "natives" question pretty ridiculous (and by extension, the demographic one).

How you got on the island and having amnesia would have little effect on what you chose to do.

Stranded =/= isolated
So I do not think the natives part as ridiculous but more like a sensible thought.

How you get to anywhere is important. Knowing one's past will help direct one's future. Otherwise we will fall into patterns and repeat mistakes. Like the mistake of winding up on an island in the first place.

Yes, amnesia would affect my choices. What if I forgot my abilities to survive on an island? Then I am going to require better equipment to survive instead of a knife or some other simplistic but useful item. It would be like MacGyver forgetting how to create an atom bomb with his bubble gum wrapper, rubber band, and a tuna. Seriously amnesia can inhibit your decision making abilities in what items you choose to have with you.

Demography is important because if someone wants to bring items for growing with them, then they need to know the type of land they will be utilizing for their crops.

I am surprised someone read through my entire answer to pull out their idea of where my reasoning was flawed. Obviously, I was not flawed, merely thorough in my analysis in this question and how one should properly go about answering it.

Of course, I never really did answer the question. I guess there is no purpose in doing that now though...

I would bring a fully fueled boat, a loaded gun, and the ex-presidential bush regime unarmed and detained.

I love that sex seems more commonly valued than one's general well being and safety. Thumbs up.

Farm land, seeds, and a 2 years worth of food.

I might as well try to farm on the island so I don't die from long-term hunger.

A fat person for food, a loaded flare gun, and an axe.

A shotgun, Dick Cheney (I'm pretty sure he's not human, so I suppose he qualifies as an object), and a dry glass of 25 year old Cardhu to sip while I feed on his tears as he tries to escape without the use of his legs.
