How many sciences do you need to get accepted into a university?

Aphex: I'm in High School at the moment and I'm wondering if I could get away with just taking Bio next semester and not take Chem. What do you guys think?

It's generally based on credits required to graduate versus credits required for acceptance. That's a policy itself varying from district to district, and state to state.

My district required you to have 3 Science courses to graduate.

I got accepted into a University having taken Biology, Chemistry, Chemistry 2, and Earth and Space Sciences (a joke class).

and my friends got into the same university having taken the normal level sciences every year.

In my opinion, it matters more about your ACT or SAT scores. (whichever are a big deal where you live).

They welcomed me with my 2.3 GPA (I realllly slacked off in high school, but still too all the AP classes, heh) having scored a 27 on the ACT.

So if I were you, I'd just make sure I studied for the ACT. I didn't study (and stayed up til 4 am the night before playing Final Fantasy 11) and still got a 26, but I'm a good test taker. You definitely shouldn't take it lightly like I did though, I didn't get much int he way of scholorships.

There I go straying again. As to whether or not you should take Chem 1, it was required at my school. But we had to take all 4 core subjects every year. So if you don't have to take a science every year, then it probably doesn't matter.

You have to take a physical science in my state and they make Chemistry a requirement. But it really depends on the state requirements. If you have an idea of what university you want to go to, you should really contact the school or it might be listed on their website.

In my high school the only required Science courses are Physical Science and Biology. Probably better to take more than just that.

Keep in mind that different schools have different graduation requirements.

I have Physical Science, Biology and H Chemistry done at the moment and am taking Physics and H Bio-Chem junior year with Chem 2 (AP) in my senior year.
