Do you consider downloading music to be wrong?

bobbonew: (Please no discussion on illegal activities, this is an objective question) ;)

Yes, but I still download music. If I like a band, I will buy 1 or 2 of their albums, just to sorta, pay them back.

Of course not. If I'm buying the song legally, it's pretty much the same as buying an album.

I think if it is legal, it is totally ok. If it is illegal, I'm not going to do it, but if you do, whatever. But, until you get caught, then I'll laugh.

I have been to concerts where the artists literally promote the idea that their stuff is downloaded. They see little profits from having their items bought at stores, so really they make money off of other merchandise sold at shows and by going to the shows they have. If you really like a band or solo artist, then doing those two things is how you help support them.

Basically, I see no crime in it. Perhaps in the USA it is against the law, but they do not run the world and they cannot tell other people what to do on the internet. The internet is not theirs to own or to have reign over.

Hell no. The only way a povo like me can afford music is with Limewire or something like that.

Although the tag line states that this is an objective question, in actuality it is asked in the frame of a subjective question which will warrant what it requests... an individual opinion form each responder. what is your intent in asking? are you looking at it form an ecological point of view?... that downloading leaves a much lighter footprint?...A moral and therefore legal point of view assuming that someone is doing it illegally?

Please re-ask your question so you can get an intelligent answer.

Hey there. I said not to mention any illegal things as in how to download music, and to also discuss the question without mentioning any legal ties. Looking at the answers below, I believe everyone got what I was trying to say.

Illegal downloading yeah, to me its the same as petty theft. It doesnt cost much to go on amazon or walmart to get a song for less than a dollar. If I love a song and need it on my mp3 player, thats what I do.

Well downloading is illegal but almost everyone does it.

Yeah IamJesues is right. It illegal, but its something that basically everyone does, so yeah. TRUSTP!NK4GETSTAINS =]

If you could do something illegal, but you probably wouldn't get in trouble, would you do it? This is the question you have to ask before you download music illegally. Personally, I do it all the time.

No, I agree with Sweden's laws on this subject.
