Yes, black holes suck up (literally) EVERYTHING. Absolutely nothing can escape, not even light.

Many scientists believe that black holes are collapsed stars, and since the only near-by star is the sun, I'd say it's possible, but not likely. And even if it did, it would take BILLIONS of years.

Now see here's the thing: I don't think there's anything to really suggest that "light cannot escape a black hole". The way I see it, the matter itself simply does not produce light and does not reflect it (it absorbs all light). While you can try and say that means that light "cannot" escape, it wouldn't necessarily be any more accurate than saying that certain wavelengths in the visible light spectrum cannot escape objects we see in our every day lives.

No, Moonrise.

Light doesn't escape the gravitation of a black hole because the escape velocity exceeds the speed of light. Nothing to do with anything you were blabbering on about.

If you'd even Googled Black Holes you would've known this.

They are pretty interesting to research, but yeah, it is very possible to suck up a planet...they can suck up stars.

and by suck, I mean pull in because "suck isn't a scientific term"

Come back in 10 billion years and ask me if the sun is going to suck up out plant. I predict in the next 200 years we'll be living on another planet. :)

First you'd have to prove 'black holes' even exist. As of today they're still just a hypothesis/theory. Noone has proved it. This is one of those items which has the illusion of a fact because of the way it is treated. Someone simply called it a fact and others began echoing that statement.

I recently heard some supposed scientist say that the multiverse is a fact. It is a fact he repeated again and again. And then he said in the future if we can get a satellite out there far enough we can prove it.
Laughing...those are conflicting statements. Facts have already been proved, they are NOT facts before they are proved. This was one of the preeminent scientists in his field abusing the term fact just to push some ridiculous story off on people.

So please don't hold your breathe waiting for a 'black hole' to attack a planet.

Black holes do not absorb anything

It is a big scientific error that black holes absorb anything. Black holes are such objects into which nothing including light, could either enter, or get out of. There exists a “light & matter restriction” area around it, and also Stars are such objects into which no matter or antimatter either enter or get out of it.

See the mathematical interpretation.

V²R (Mercury) = Vₑ²R (Venus) = Vₐ²R (Earth) = GM (mass of Sun) = Constant = 1.32746 e+20 m²sˉ

Now imagine a model, where a given object is revolving around the Sun with the velocity of light, and on computing its distance from Sun,

C²R (object with Light Velocity) = GM = 1.32746 e+20 m²sˉ

R = GM / C² = 1.32746 e+20 m²sˉ / C²

The velocity of light C is 9 e+ 16 and so R =

R= 1.32746 e+20 m²sˉ / 9 e+ 16

R= 1474.956530667 meter

It is clear that even if any given object revolves around Sun at the velocity of light, it will only be revolving in an orbit of the radius of 1474.956530667 meter. Which means that any given object speeding in a circular orbit will neither fall into the Sun, for it will come out of its circular orbit, because it is impossible for any object to achieve the velocity of light.

And now, when the value of the orbital radius of the imaginary object revolving around a central object is more or equal to the distance covered by light in one second, then such central object will be a black hole and anything entering it is just as impossible as it is for it to get out of the black hole.

This small error was cause many secret. Actually the universe does not have that number of secrets in the universe that the science has erected around it. The interpretation of subjects like black holes, dark matter, impractical imaginations of dark energy, structure of the Milky Way, the reason for anti-matter to disappear, the reason for the stars to come out of the center of Milky Way speedily, genesis of the universe, genesis of velocities and their distribution and so on have been done with the help of only three major points of this research paper (DS velocity, K-effect and S-effect respectively) in a simple manner.
