When outside in the rain, which will keep you drier running or walking?

Kenbo: I know this is a silly question, but seriously think about it. I parked about 100 yards away from a restaurant, and it was pouring rain. I ran as fast as I could and I got soaked. People told me if I walked I would be drier. I have heard this before. I guess that would work, but walking your going slower and getting just as wet.

No, walking will make you wetter. About ten percent wetter than someone who runs.

If it is pouring and you are one hundred yards away from your destination, then I do not think it will make a difference. You are seriously going to be soaked either way. Although if it is a lighter drizzle and your distance is not so vast, I would recommend running, as less time spent in the rain means that less of it will get on you.

I saw this on Myth Busters and supposedly you got wetter if you ran rather than walking. But at 100 yards away you'd probably get soaked anyways.

I haven't heard this before actually, but i wouldn't think walking would keep you drier. But from 100 yards away there's no doubt that you're going to be drenched by the time you reach where you're going.

I saw this on myth buster's as well. But my take is enjoy the rain. It is a wholly purifying expirence. Be a child again!

At a certain point, it really doesn't matter. Once you're saturated, you cannot get any wetter. Once that happens most people run so they don't have to be out in it for as long. I like the rain. I like having a towel once I get back inside, but its still nice to walk in a storm. (as long as my feet are dry.)
