Definitely not. I'd say even as late as Windows 3.1 he still didn't know how large and diverse Microsoft would become.

In ways I agree with moonrise, still at the same time I think he & his pirate minions stole code from the public & the more reliable OS's at the time to make it what it is today. Not that any of that has stopped 'cause if you notice the more advanced the Windows OS becomes the more it mimics apple with half the performance...

PCs can do more than Macs. I can't stand all this "<3 Mac" crap I see everywhere. The components make the computer.

Your are correct about the peripherals as well, but the OS can either use them for performance or bog them down with heavy programming...

I think he had some idea he would get rich, but not how rich he is now. He is a smart man, he figured out something billions of people needed and strived on that idea. Good for him, he is now one of the richest men on this planet.

I agree, he predicted that there would be a computer in every household. google it

Absolutely not!
I saw an interview with Bill Gates before the company really began growing. In that interview he stated he turned IBM down flat and sent them away. But later IBM returned and convinced him to accept. Then he bought an operating system from some other company, that was DOS.
