Yes, it is. We have a pet snake that eats frozen mice, and they always pack the mice with a large chunk of dry ice.

In the US you need to be 18 or older to purchase dry ice. I'm not sure how it is in other countries.

I could have sworn they stopped selling it because some rascals were doing deviant things with it. I am seemingly wrong as you all have stated that it is still possible to purchase.

Yeah but seriously though, be careful, they can quite literally blow your arm off or send a piece of shrapnel right through your face.
Fun fact, a 2 liter soda bottle can hold over 300 psi! (Mythbusters)
