Is it true that a humans body creates and destroys 15 million blood cells every second?

Answers

That is inaccurate information. While the human body does have quite a numerous amount of red blood cells, I believe the number for reproduction is only around two million per every second or so. RBCs will live about 120 days. The overall number of both which has been created and destroyed in about every second would only be around four million. (Unless you have a blood disease, in which you may have quite a different range of numbers.)
