Many people believe that it was caused by a meteor crashing, or a volcano, or anything like that, although there's no proof for any of them.
I personally believe that the dinosaurs did not go extinct, but they evolved into modern day animals, especially flying dinosaurs.

And if you're a christian who doesn't believe in evolution, here's what I think:
I think evolution and the big bang and all that stuff happened, but I believe God MADE them happen.

I totally agree

Since there is no exactly correct answer for this it leaves room debate. They could have been wiped out by the planet, for example a volcano or climate shift. They could have been wiped out by a meteor there is evidence of this with the K- T boundary (the boundary between the Cretaceous period (K) and the Tertiary period (T)). Or there could have been an overpopulation problem and food was running scarce. All I'm saying is the response this question could go on for ever.

There are quite a number of theories held today.
The last time I checked, however, it was a combination of continent movement, virus spreading, and vegetation decay via large amounts of sediment in the atmosphere(possible volcanoes or meteorite activity).

It depends on which era of dinosaurs we are talking about. I believe, if I am remembering correctly, that two waves of them were killed mostly off by drastic temperature changes that they could not survive against. Another wave of them has multiple theories going around that numerous people will say a [vastly huge] meteor hit causing so much dust and whatnot to fly in the air that the dinosaurs could not process it properly and thus many died off. Then of course there were the dinos that died off because of tar pits, lack of food, and simply through other forms of survival of the fitest.

Whether or not you believe some of them survived long enough to be the distant unevolved form of your fido is beyond me. Really, dinosaurs exist only in bone form now, so whatever.

According to the Advanced Science Curriculum textbook for high school homeschoolers, after the dinosaurs were released from Noah's Ark, they were gradually all eaten by people. Still, they survived right into the early Medieval period when the last were killed by fierce Knights on steeds.
