I had a husky growing up that ate everything in sight. It never made him sick but I also only gave him a little bit of chocolate every once in a while. I think it's okay for dogs if it is a tiny bit and very seldom when they eat it.

Yes it really is. Dogs crave chocolate if they have any. They don't realize the harmful effects. Chocolate contains a stimulant called theobromine which affects the nervous system of the dog and too much can eventually end in death. The higher the concentration of cocoa in the chocolate the more theobromine there is. Milk chocolate contains minuscule amounts but they can still be dangerous.

It depends on the dog.
We gave my cousins dog chocolate all the time, and it didn't hurt him much.
My dog absolutely LOVES chocolate, and if he eats large amounts of it, it just makes him kinda wobbly, otherwise he's fine.

Try it with bakers chocolate, the results should be much different. Just kidding. Don't. Either way you really shouldn't feed your dog any chocolate. But hey, your dog is your dog.

just keep it away from antifreeze, dogs seem to love the taste. Kids think its kool-aid, my brother almost died when he was little.

I think its to do with lactose intolerance. You get special chocolate for them that does not contain this.

I'm adamant that it has nothing to do with lactose. Theobromine is the cause.

Maybe. My dog eats everything. She loves melon skins. Seriously!
