Do you think the Spanish language could have come to be simply by accident? Parasyte: It, and also French, are EXTREMELY heavily derived from Latin, it seems to me some people could have just mispronounced a few words, and BAM! Spanish. |

Ha ha, it is true that those languages have many words that are derived from Latin, but language occurring by accident... Well, the progression of one language into the next is more complicated than that. I just want to say that I have studied Latin for almost six years and I have dabbled in both French and Spanish. They are not as similar as you would think. Not only is pronunciation different, but there are other variations in the grammatical structure and spelling.

Most modern languages are accidents that came from ancient languages. Regional dialects and barbarian influences caused an unintentional transition from Latin to things like Spanish, French, and English, in their older forms. Current languages are more like accidental deritivitives of their older forms, like Modern English is to the Middle English of Geoffrey Chaucer. |
