What's wrong with my laser?

Parasyte: It came with an airsoft gun I got for my birthday. What's SUPPOSED to happen, is it lights up when you hold down a button, and when that button is released, it turns off. But for a while now, as long as the batteries are in, it just won't turn off, even if the button is not held down. If I take the batteries out, the light goes out, but if I put them back in, it goes back on.

Found this with a google search... not sure if it's relevant to you or not.

If you are someone of a mechanically intelligent person, or you are a beginner DIYer, you can easily fix this problem.

The Nitefinder laser is designed to turn on with a partial trigger pull, and this is accomplished by a metal strip attached to the trigger on the inside of the gun. When pulled back slightly, the metal strip contacts another piece of metal, forming a circuit and turning on the laser. The problem with yours is almost definitely that the metal strip is some how bent, deformed or incorrectly placed, so that it contacts the other piece of metal even when the trigger isn't pulled at all.

If you unscrew the gun the metal strip will be easily visible, and you can cut it / bend it so that it will only activate on a partial trigger pull.

Hope this helped.

P.S. Be very careful when opening the gun; one of the springs tends to shoot out into dark corners of the room. Don't lose anything

My house is full of airsoft guns that are broken, work oddly, or malfunction regularly. Pieces of junk.
