Which mobile phone do you want next?

bobbonew: Mobile phones are selling like hot cakes these days and everybody seems to have a preference towards a certain brand or carrier. So we ask, which phone do you want next? Your current phone upgraded, or do you think you'll make the switch a different platform/carrier?

Currently using a Nokia E63. It's fantastic for txting, seeing as it has a QWERTY keypad.
I'd love an iPhone though, since I'd make use of apps. Too bad they're a bit out of my price range...

I'd like a Motorola Droid, or a Nexus One. I go with an iPhone for the apps, but I HATE Apple.

Right now I'm on an iPhone 3GS, and just pike the typical iPhone owner I'm pretty loyal. I definitely would upgrade to the iPhone 4 if I wasn't in contract for another 1.5 years. The problems that are plaguing it now are a little worrisome, but the better screen and faster processor are probably worth it b

I probably wouldn't ever switch to android unless Apple really screwed up. I've played on it before and it's a bit clumsy at first. Who knows though, I have quite a while to go before I upgrade.

That's how I feel about Android. It just doesn't feel intuitive or 'nice' to me.

I really want a Droid X. I'd have to switch carriers I think because I use T-Mobile right now.

I have the Droid Eris right now, but I would kill for a Droid X or Droid 2.

What's the difference between the Droid X and 2?

Chiggins's Avatar

Hardware mostly, the 2 is faster and can do 720p video. Not sure if is as big as the X thought.

Droid X is a huge slab of technology with a 4.3" screen and no physical keyboard.
The Droid 2 has the same processor as the X but the latest version of Android (2.2) which the X should be receiving soon.

Are Droids pretty good? Cheap? Are they unlocked? They aren't sold here, so wondering if it were cheap enough to import one. Just gotta make sure they can run any carrier. D:

I've only played with a co-workers Droid incredible but yes it's a great phone. They aren't that cheap maybe in the $200-$300 area. Honestly, I'm not sure what unlocked is so I can't even begin to tell you about that lol. And I don't think they run on every carrier. I've only seen them run on Verizon. But I could be wrong about that.

If you buy them from somewhere like NewEgg or Amazon, you can get them unlocked. But I think they primarily work on the CDMA network.

Damn, don't see myself being able to use one here then. Our phones don't run on CDMA anymore. :(

I'm kinda with Dom on this one. iPhone would be great but I don't want to spend the money really. Instead I'm using a Blackberry Curve (may be Bold, tbh I have no idea what the difference is). Upgrading to an iPhone would be nice though, if I didn't have to pay for it, haha. =)

Whatever is cheapest with the least amount of annoying bells and whistles. I don't even own a cell, but my wife and kids each have one. If someone wants to talk to me, they can reach me at my office at my convenience.

I'm thinking it will be whatever Windows Phone 7 device comes to Sprint first. I can't wait to get in on that UI :D
