Each one has advantages and disadvantages though. For example you're not going to generate as electricity from solar power if you live in the UK. I mean, it'll work but not as effective as if the conditions were right for it to be a primary source of energy. The best bet for the UK (using this as an example because I know of the climatic conditions around the country :P) is either tidal or geothermal. With renewable energy supplies, it quite literally is a case by case scenario.
