If you could extend your life 1000 years with science and technology, would you do it?

bobbonew: Science and technology are pushing new boundaries every day. Before we know it we'll be able to extend our life tens of times longer than it is now. So will you guys do it, and why?

I would do it in a heartbeat! That is my one dream to live longer than my natural life, not because I'm vain but because I don't think you can experience everything life has to give in such a short time. Think of all the places you could go, people you can meet, and things you can learn. Yepp I'd sign up for that trip.

This basically. I'd love to live a longer than natural life, sheerly because I could do so much more with it.

Oh, the movie AI keeps flashing through my head - would I be bored? driven mad by loneliness? Does everyone come with me? I think I would still swallow the red pill and take the ride.

I am daydreaming what I could do with 12 generations of time!

Oh yeah, 'course. In 1000 years if the human race hasn't killed itself yet, we'll probably have the technology to live forever. Which would be pretty freakin' awesome.

We'll have the technology to live forever in less than a hundred years. We're, very literally, one of the last generations to die.

Sad, yet true. WE were all born too early. WE will die, and others will explore the stars and live like gods for millions of years.

Not fair!

I would do nothing of the sort. I am perfectly content with the normal/average/whatever term you find satisfactory human lifespan that I am sure to live. I have no desire whatsoever to extend it to excessive means.

Sign me up right now. It is almost within our grasp.

No I would not want to live that long unless I didn't age. I don't want to know how bad people would be if they were 1000 years old lol. But no, one lifetime is long enough for me to do everything I plan on doing.

For me it would depend would i work for 1000S of years and support kids for that long? Will we have enough resources to live for that extended life? And what would happen to our population worldwide would it spike to numbers so high we would have to start killing people off or building space colonies to have enough space to live a comfortable life? Factoring in all these i guess i wouldn't want to live a extended life with all its given bonuses
