Who hacked Sony?

The past week its no surprise that Sony's PSN online system was compromised, sending gobs of personal information into the hands of the hackers. But the remaining question on everyone's mind is who did it?

The rumor going around is that Anonymous or the group behind them was responsible, but that is just a rumor.

The evidence from the past shows that this is not typical of Anonymous. Its rumored now due to the extent of information and data taken that said information will be used maliciously to steal identities. Credit card information, addresses, names, passwords for a possible 70+ million users has been taken. This does not follow the pattern for attacks Anonymous has performed.

Utilizing the same password for multiple accounts is not new on the internet; its not a question of if but when the first account will be compromised.
