When is iOS 5 coming out?

It says apple will release IOS 5 commercial when the I phone 5 is released in autumn. It was released for developers on 6th June 2011. Where did you find 7th September on a website?

I went to apple the other day because I dropped my phone and it wasn't working well,
and the "Genius" said that it will be coming out in October, no exact date tho.

she also told me that in September, that's when all the apple employee are in training for iOS 5. obviously, they all need to be trained because when the iOS is released, a bunch of people are going to be going to the apple store to ask questions.

IOS 5 doesn't have a release date for two reasons one so that the day it comes out everyone who has a iPhone or iPod doesn't download it if millions of people try to download it at the same time their servers could crash then you shall have fun for two days with a corrupted piece of electronics that will not work.

Second so that they can read these people say they know when its going to be released so as much as a tech nerd you are you're just a useless piece of garbage and its not newer and cooler applications; its updated and useful crap which won't make you much more happy unless you like taking pictures that now comes with a Photoshop LRX built into the software.

if you go on apple.com it says that ipod touch 4G ships with IOS 5. The release date is october 12th so that is when it will release to the public.

Right now its exclusive to programmers/developers. The reason for that is that the software is not bug free. Some features are missing or incomplete and generally it is not ready for prime time just yet.

The only way that you will get it is if your friend illegally gives it to you (If said friend is a developer) or if you download the developer version off the internet with is also illegal. other wise you need to $100 for it and then you'll get all of apple software early like all the other developers and programers.

-3rd and 4th iPod Touch
-iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4

Yepp, when it comes out officially this fall your iTunes will alert you to a new upgrade available for your iOS device and give you the option to upgrade.

What's cool about this new release is that you will be able to upgrade to future editions of the OS without even needing to connect to iTunes. Very convenient.

OS X is run on full Mac systems iOS 5 is the device operating system. There is no comparison between iOS 5 and OS X!

OS X is for Mac whereas iOS 5 is for iPhone iPad or iTouch.

Nope, u should be reminded that iOS upgrades are FREE (When officially released). U will not lose all your personal data and settings, with the upgrade u'll just get the new things, it wont replace your current setting and personal data. And the release is WORLDWIDE since it is available on iTunes not as a hardware product. All your apps are saved in iTunes when ever u sync your iPhone to the computer.

Yes all iOS updates can update to iOS 5, well it should, if not you will have to download the latest version of iOS 4 before you can upgrade to iOS 5.

You gotta use iTunes. After you upgrade your iPad will be able to upgrade without iTunes over the air.

Yes, unfortunately you will need to upgrade to iOS 5 via iTunes, but iTunes is a free download from apple so you can download it and then use your cable to sync onto your computer so all your apps will be on your computer. then you can download iOS 5 when it comes out and then sync all your apps back on.

I personally would rather have the current version of iOS with the jailbreak rather than the beta version of iOS 5 on my phone. Just a personal opinion.
