Can you use an unlocked iPhone on T-Mobile?

(Guest): Apple started selling the unlocked iPhone 4 on their mobile store today (June 14, 2011) but does that mean I can use it on T-Mobile?

Yes absolutely you can use your unlocked iPhone on T-mobile!

In fact this means that anywhere in the world that offers GSM (the carrier type the iPhone runs on) can power the iPhone.

There is only one downside, you won't be able to use T-Mobile's 3G connectivity. T-Mobile's 3G is on a different band that isn't supported natively on the iPhone. You can still absolutely make phone calls and utilize its data connection for e-mail and internet, however you'll be using the much slower "EDGE" network.

Is this a huge point for users? Maybe. But if you're on T-Mobile and dying for the iPhone then this is for you.

I actually have a question. I have tmobile.. and i really want the iphone 3g s . but i dont know, like how much its gonna be a month. if it is gonna be very expensive, i probably wont get it. i dont know how much a month. but i would like to know, if anyone knows. i dont know what to do in this situation..
