Does music relax you?

Rune Ripper: For me it entirely depends on what I'm listening too, I find loud music too distracting to be relaxing so I like to listen to quiet music whilst trying to rest, read a book and such.

I probably couldn't live without music in my life. When i'm doing work on questional I constantly have music playing or I think i would probably go insane. Also when I was in school I had music on all the time while studying and I really felt it helped me concentrate a lot more. Its funny because I had this conversation with my family last night of why can I work with music on yet get distracted whenever somebody is talking.

Reading is another thing, I have to have utmost silence for that. I get into another world while i'm reading a book and I guess I can't really multi-task when it comes to that.

I cannot deal with silence. Period.
I have music for every occasion and mood, and have a few playlists set aside specifically for relaxing, consisting mostly of ambient instrumental and electronic music.
Naturally, death metal isn't something I put on to go to sleep.

I do. :)

Nothing better than listening to Bleeding Through when trying to count sheep.

Yes! I love music, music is one of my favorite passions in life. If i didn't have music i would go crazy. Every type of music relaxes me. Yes different types of music put me in different moods. But there always good moods, even death metal. I love all types of music except country and rap. I listen to music while doing anything and everything. Playing the drums makes me feel so good.

I hate listening to music if I'm concentrating on difficult homework like an English essay. If it's more mindless, then music helps.

I've never really listened to music for relaxation purposes tbh. Chillout, smooth jazz were never really my thing.

If I am stressed, Heavy Hard Fast music is what I need.

If I am calm, I want a more psychedelic touch.

If I'm in the mood to sing, I like to play various types of metal.

Otherwise, I just place all my music on random and listen to it. If I don't like it, its not on my computer, unless its a memory.
