What do YOU think of questional?

Rune Ripper: We're all members of this site for a reason (and if you're just browsing, you must be browsing for a reason too!) and this reason will of course be influenced by your thoughts on questional.

I myself think questional is an impressive website full of many opportunities to learn something new and I take full advantage of this, the community, although small, is very friendly and helpful and I enjoy the time I spend here. How about you?

I love it although my visiting time has been restricted recently.

It's fairly pleasant.

I can get some opinions, while providing others with mine.

I can also supply some on here with factual knowledge about things that actually matter. I haven't seen too many idiotic questions yet, so I approve.

I.E. Questions about the Electoral College are in fact more relevant than the names of celebrities' children.

I think the question should be "What do YOU think of questional so far?" instead of "What do YOU think of questional?".

I love the site so far, and love to see it expand and grow into something huge. As for improvements, maybe a ThumbsUp/ThumbsDown system for answers? And maybe a SpellChecker?

If you're using Firefox all text fields should have spell-check already.

Also, right now, there is no real motive to answer questions on this site. No points, no reputation score, no ranks, no rewards, nothing to really motivate people to actually participate and help out. And because of this, many many questions are left unanswered as they sink to the bottom of the ocean floor.

Points are already on the site, just visit somebody's profile and look to the right of their name and avatar.

And on the members page at the bottom of the site. The members page has a list of the top users. Look for rewards coming soon too.

Yes as Kenbo said look for rewards coming soon! I wish we could push updates a bit quicker, but i'm a one man coder. We're gonna do a drawing each month for like 1-3 people based on points. If you win the drawing you get like $50-upwards gift cert to anywhere you want. Since we're such a new site its anybodys game!

I enjoy reading questions that other people have asked and I enjoy helping out. (:
It's great because you may be searching the internet for what seems like forever, but you come to a website like this and someone may have the answer you were looking for.

Suggestion. How about every 50 points, you get 10 points to distribute to members as you see fit?

Hmmm at first I didn't understand your suggestion, but are you talking about handing the points out to members who have given good answers and/or answered your question efficiently? (I originally thought of the question asker being able to choose the "best answer" and that person get a few points, but I threw it out the door)

There are many ideas that are on the board any given day; some features have even been coded completely but dumped. Our primary goal is to keep the site layout completely clean and to not show any extraneous information; that is where our competitors have failed. By putting ads everywhere, and extra bull that you just don't need.

We actually had a thumb up/down for answers before the site launched. But then we removed thumb down because we felt every answer was good (if not, then deleted for spam). But then it was like, why do we even need that? Its just extra stuff in your face that doesn't really mean something. If a group of rogue people came on they could completely put their votes on answers anyway they wanted and undermine the system.

As well, user ranks. I have been throwing it around a bit. I'm considering putting how many points you have under your avatar when you post an answer, and if you hover over it with your mouse it might say a rank. Considering.

Lastly, we're gonna have a feedback/suggestions area in a day or two where anyway can make a suggestion, look our for it soon! (Sry for taking over your answer who :D)

Yeah. Sometimes you just want to give an extra point to someone for a great comment, question or answer. I like the idea of the points on the avatar.

Indeed. I have seen some answers, and I think to myself, "I really wish I could give them more than the single point you get for answering a question."

Alright then, it really sounds like the "choose best answer" feature should be given some more thought. I'll mock something up and see what I can do :)

Wow, I haven't answered this question yet?
Questional is tied for greatest website ever, in my opinion.

I enjoy being here, and I like the people here, even the ones that I appear to hate.

It's decent.... I tend to participate here for the fun/opinion based questions more so than the knowledge/fact based questions, as some people do not answer some questions correctly, so I wouldn't put TO much stock into using this site as a learning tool for factual info all the time.... If you really want to learn stuff, it would be more efficient to actually look something up and find factual info in books, articles, etc... that are proven 100% factual info. Although, I would be lying if I said I never asked/answered serious/fact based questions, I just tend to look at the fun ones more....

Overall, it is a good site with mostly friendly/knowledgeable members, and a good way to pass the time on the net. It is definitely one of the sites I visit daily.... Hell, I've spent WAY more time here asking/answering/commenting on questions way more than I ever did Yahoo! Answers and other similar question sites....
