Why use Questional?

memetix: When I discovered Questional, my first thought was "why not just do your own research?" Isn't it intellectually lazy to ask questions on this site when a quick Wikipedia or Google search can yield more robust, accurate, and trustworthy answers than questional members are able to provide?

Well, there are a few reasons why a site like this can work. For one, there are still a lot of people on the internet these days that just have no idea how to search Google, use Google and think Wikipedia is a fine wine. To those individuals, an easy to use site like this can really help them out. We tried to make the site super easy to use and navigate, so anybody's typical mother can figure out how to use this. We still have a bit of tweaking to go, but we have some standards.

Another reason is getting direct answers from "the people" you are able to more insight into your question, as well as more clarification. You can search your question on Wikipedia or Google, but 99% of the time that is all you have. With a website like this you can as I said ask for clarification, and more so than not get a "human" response that many members can understand.

Lastly, I have two major features coming quite soon to questional that I really cannot mention publicly, but having a core site like this is a great infrastructure for growth in other areas. If you wish I will send you a private message clearing this up a bit for you.

Concerning trustworthiness of the answers given, we have an update that I have to push ASAP concerning the source of the answer. You can cite other websites you have used, or cite a bachelors degree you might have, or even life experience. We are working on this to make it a minimalistic feature, but enough to give people peace of mind when receiving their answers.

Hope this cleared things up for you. We are still in our infancy for only being open for 14 days, but in the coming weeks the questional brand will start to solidify and you will be able to see how worthy of a site questional can be. :)

The updates sound quite good Bobbo. I look forward to them.

And, lest you think I was trying to crap on your website, rest assured that I was just playing devil's advocate with my question.

Opinion-based questions are one of the biggest factors that come to mind.

Yeah thanks Raz I totally forgot about that factor; which consequently accounts for about 40-50% of the questions on the site :D
