My favorite comic book artists of all time are the artists who did the Fleer Ultra 1994 Marvel card set. There were a bunch of artists, here is the link for all the cards. It has the artist on the back of the card. I collected these cards when I was a kid. I was so obsessed with them because the art was different and better from the other cards.

Frank Miller comes to mind off the top of my head. He's got a very unique noir style.

In a completely different fashion, Bill Watterson (Calvin & Hobbes) had an amazing sense for aesthetics, and beautiful range.

I have tons of others, but I'll have to get back about that.

I really enjoyed when he went from vivid, complex, layered panels of dinosaurs attacking a school or something, and shifting gears to Calvin on a white background.
Just brilliant stuff, and his writing was nothing short of amazing, either.
