The eighth generation of video game consoles really has me excited. I'm unsure what they are going to come up with exactly, but looking at the progression of consoles (from my personal experience starting with Playstation One) its really going to be exciting.

Already in the 7th generation of consoles you can have limited use to use the consoles as full fledged PCs, and I do not think that is going to stop with the next version but only grow. The CPU, on-board memory, and graphics cards will definitely grow in size. I am actually looking forward to them being able to play PC games as well as their established media (Xbox, Nintendo etc).

I actually skipped this generation of consoles because I wasn't extremely impressed over the progressions made from the previous versions. Gamecube was my personal favorite, and was released somewhere around 2000 and had decent made graphics. This round though of 8th generation ones I will definitely be taking part in. I wonder when information will start to be released about them and the time frames for release will be.

Imagine the WiiS360.. Without a doubt it will incorporate Wifi (unless there is a better wireless medium available), a Hard Drive (or solid state, but I don't see that catching on with console gaming), and motion sensitive controllers. Also, you'll see a great market for games and movies available for downloads. Each company will find their own new niche though, which happens with ever new generation.

I like that picture, lol. What if video game controllers have that many buttons in the future? That would be crazy.

Well, as of 2011, this video will show you what next gen console games will look like, as far as graphics go.
