How old were you when you first got your own computer?

Nagare: Just mostly your own, I paid for most of mine but my mom still uses it from time to time.

The first time I got my own laptop, I must've been about 8.

Now I know what you're thinking. Don't worry, my mother didn't spend any money on a laptop for an 8 year old. I was wandering around my mothers office one day and I found an extremely old laptop. At the time it felt like it weighed half of me and there was a giant crack in the casing, the screen was cracked in several places and the dust on it was immaculate. Fascinated, I of course asked my mom about it and it turned out it was garbage. The company didn't want it so I got to keep it. It barely ran Windows 95 and only lasted a month or 2 but that was my first laptop.

Similar story on how I first got into computers. My mom used to work in a cubicle type of place and she had to work late a lot because she was a manager. Sometimes she brought me with her and I got to mess around with the other workers computers. That was about 8 years ago now but I still loved it.

Well, considering I got my first computer only one month ago (yes, I paid for all of it ofc), I was 16. :)

For some reason I always thought you were way older than me.

Haha, everyone seems to think so, even after seeing a picture of me. ^_^

The christmas before last, when I was fourteen I got my first laptop, I've never owned my own computer though.

9 or 10. I was still at primary school and my mum got me an 'acorn electron' basically cause it was the same format as the ones they were beginning to introduce in some classes which was the 'bbc micro'. I was supposed to be learning the basics but mostly played frogger.

My nineteenth birthday.

My family has had a computer since I was 6... I got my own first computer when I was about 9. And there went my life.

My parents bought our first computer, I believe it was in 98. Sadly I didn't buy my own laptop until 2008. I just always used my parents computer, my friends, computers at school and my phone.

I had a computer when I was very young, somewhere between 3-6 years old, but it was a piece of junk that would barely run anything. So eventually my mom let her preschool class have it, and I was computerless. But then, a few years later, my brother got a new computer, and I got to have his old one.
