How are people able to sense that someone is starring at them?

broncobert: Whether it be from across a room or behind them people always seem to have a weird sixth sense when they are being starred down. Have you ever been sitting in a public place and suddenly become overwhelmed with the sensation that someone is starring at you? Then sure enough when you look around you notice someone glaring you down or intensely looking at you. Is this just a coincidence or do you think that people can sense when they are being looked at for a long period of time?

I don't know how it works but it does. When someone is starring at me I can always sense it, and I turn and look and they are starring. It is kind of creepy but cool that we have that ability to sense something like that.

Haha, I tend to take a quick observation of my surroundings every few seconds, noticing slight changes. If I catch someone looking at me two times in a row I'll just stare back until they turn away. :P

The earth's rotating iron core creates a magnetic field that interacts with the sun's. This means that the two fields not only detect each other but are deeply affected by each others presence. Each field is going through a permanent state of flux that affect each other like ripples. The interaction of magnetic fields and wires with electrical current flowing through them has long been manipulated by man to produce motors. The technology later used to build dams and eventually lead to many innovations. If we take the analogy to the brain which functions on the transmission of electrical impulses, we can assume that the brain not only creates a field but is affected but others of the same nature. Our brain has alot of algorithms running full time that we never really have any apparent control over, all just ticking along nicely in our subconscience. But who is to say that we can't tap into the inner workings and exert a little control over what is going on. Like free-divers that exploit the instinctive mammalian diving reflex. We are probably aware on a deeper level the real-time fluctuations going on in our own brain's biofield and respond to that.

I Have a theory on this.
Basically though, you hear when someone else has become more alert. They are more alert when staring at you. I'd go into specifics, but this is something I would like to test for myself one day and I do not want someone beating me to the punch.
