There is no such thing as "American." If we're talking about the United States, and products from that country, then I suppose so. Most of the things I [any of us, for that matter] purchase are made in China though.

When people 'Buy American' it generally refers to buying American goods, and in this case, supporting the big 3 like Ford instead of the Japanese and German auto industries.

What I meant was that there should be no such term as "American." Not that nothing was made in the United States.

It really is hard to buy American. As far as the big 3 go, if I needed a new car, my money would currently go to FORD. I am a Ford Guy but I haven't really liked their products the past few years. I own 2 and therefore do not need one, luckily. I couldn't see myself going with the other two based solely on they are going to fail miserably if not allowed to restructure through bankruptcy. On the other hand, Import cars last a really long time, and they frequently have better fuel mileage.

I have an import beater that drinks gas and oil and otherwise does me just fine too.

Remember this though. America, is the World's Consumer. Almost every product you can buy if it isn't made out of the US, then it is likely only assembled in the US, of X amount, certain parts from foreign countries. I think according to law like 2% of any given product has to actually be from America, to be called Made in America.
And I suck at grammar.

I don't really know where the things I buy are from, but the one thing I do know where it is from is my car. My car is a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am GT, I love American cars and my car is amazing, it is my baby. Old School American muscle cars are the coolest cars on this Earth.

I buy cheap, I am poor.

I wish the illegal income tax would be lifted and a greater tax on new items would be enforced. I buy used most of the time, and basic foods(also cereal) should be tax free.
