LulzSec Strikes Arizona State Police Department in Protest Against SB1070
Late Thursday evening LulzSec released over 700 documents culled from the Arizona State Pollice via bit torrent. The description of the files published on LulzSec's Pirate Bay account read:
"We are releasing hundreds of private intelligence bulletins, training manuals,
personal email correspondence, names, phone numbers, addresses and passwords
belonging to Arizona law enforcement. We are targeting AZDPS specifically
because we are against SB1070 and the racial profiling anti-immigrant police
state that is Arizona."
Documents Released By LulzSec Verified
The documents have been verified as genuine. This calls into question LulzSec's statements that they are not hacktivists, as it presents a specific political agenda to this hack. In a departure from typical LulzSec form the press release for this hack was released by an anonymous source independent of LulzSec, though the actual data was distributed through LulzSec 's twitter as per usual. LulzSec's website is currently offline, displaying a Cloudflare snapshot of the site as it was before the downage which does not include info on the most recent hack. Whether this has to do with the recent Fox News exclusive with Hex0010, an individual who claims to be from TeaMp0isoN (Team Poision) a Mujahadeen hacking group, is unclear. Fox's interview with Hex suggests that LulzSec found themselves in the crosshairs of pro Palestinian hackers who intend to expose the members of LulzSec.
TeaMp0isoN are admittedly political hackers, taking credit for hacking the personal website of the General Secretary of India's National Congress Rahul Gandhi and other political targets. Their point of contention with LulzSec boils down to who is the most "elite" hacker. TeaMp0isoN may be targeting LulzSec simply to prove they are more skilled. Hex0010 stated in the Fox News interview that LulzSec needs to 'get some skills' and went on a rant referencing LulzSec's brute force DDoS attacks launched against the CIA among others, "You think, 'I'm a bad-ass hacker because I can knock someone offline for a few minutes.' That's bull----. Come on!" No statement was made as to LulzSec's Brink or FBI hacks in the Fox interview.
