Is the site free to use? Is registration free?
The site is 100% FREE to use. It's FREE to register and be a part of our community. We will never randomly ask you for money to use our 100% free community.
Why should I register?
Well, if you register you'll never have to worry about losing those questions you posted using a guest account. If you stay a guest you can't keep track of all the exciting material you posted as that guest. With an account you can track your questions, points, friends, answers, and private messages. We DO NOT send spam emails or anything that other sites may send out to their members.
What are points and how do I receive them?
Points are based on the same scale for every user and are automatically attached to your account. For every question you post, you receive 2 points. For each answer you post, you will receive 4 points. If you post a comment, you receive 1 point. If you are the first person to add tag words to a question, you receive 1 point. Tag words connect similar questions with the same words in them, so we reward you for being the first to add the wonderful feature to a question. If you add a image to a question, you receive 1 point. All these things make Questional the way it is, so we like to reward you with points. Points can show many different things like dedication, knowledge and addiction for Questional. We hold a points contest every month, the person with the most points at the end of the month wins a $50 Visa Gift Card. We also do a random point selection for another $50 Visa Gift Card. Why do you need my email address?
We take email address’ to confirm your identification. We also may periodically send out emails about new updates, new features and exciting news about Questional. Also, if we can’t get in contact with you through Questional’s private messaging, we can contact you through your personal email address.
How do I use Questional texting?
Just text your question to q@questional.com from your cell phone. If you would like to receive the points for posting to the site, then add your number into your profile. You may also select how many answers you receive back within a 24 hour span. If your phone number is on file, then the question you texted will show up on the home page under your account. The bonus to using Questional Texting is it's FREE if your cell phone plan includes text messaging. We do NOT charge for this feature.
What are the "Sessions"?
"Sessions" are our questiona nd answer sessions with some of your favorite entertainers, scientist, environmentalists, and athletes. We will have the Q&A open for on week while questions are being submitted. Then the best, most unique questions will be chosen to be sent to said celebrity. Once we receive the answers, they will posted up for all to see. We will have a new person for the sessions every week.
What is the "Community" page?
This is where you'll be able to see the members of Questional. You can search through members using recently joined, top points, and/or last active. This should help you get better acquainted with the community and your peers.
What are the forums for?
We have two forums for members to use. Suggestions & Feedback and Site News & Announcements. Feel free to post suggestions for the site in the appropriate forum. We are always trying to better out site and the community so our members are satisfied (within reason). In Site News & Announcements, you'll be kept up to date with new features, updates and goings on at Questional.
Question Based
What is a question rating and how do I rate one?
Question ratings are the yellow talk bubbles next to the question. You may only rate a question once. Each person who rates that question counts as one rating. You will see a box on the right of the site that says Top Rated Questions. This just makes it that much easier for you to find an interesting question. When you are in a certain category, the box will go from site wide to the top rated in that category. To rate a question, click the rate link under the talk bubble and it has now been rated.
What is the difference between a fact and an opinion question?
Questions marked fact means the person who made the question wants only answers that can be proven factual (or real answers). If it was marked opinion, then that person wants your honest opinion about the matter and has open answers. Now opinion does not mean you can tell that person they are wrong. Everybody has their own views and opinions and we want everyone to respect a different view than your own. Just keep an open mind and you might learn something new.
What are "Tags"?
Tags are very helpful when using the search feature. If you search for a certain word, every question with that word as a tag will be displayed.
To add a tag, just click the "Tags" button and start typing the keywords that are in the question. You will receive one point for every question you tag.
Member Account Based
What is an avatar and how do I get one?
An avatar is the picture you see when you post and in your profile. It's just a fun way to express a little about your self to others. We have a list of preset avatars located in the edit account/profile section. Just click on the change avatar link and you'll see your current avatar. You can either upload your own ( family pic, sports equipment, fav car, etc.) or click on a preset and select change avatar. There are some restrictions to the pictures we allow you to upload yourself. The size may NOT be larger than 65x65 pixels (you can right click the pic and click on view image and it will tell you how many pixels big it is) and it can NOT contain sex, nudity, drugs, violence, or any obscene material. We do have children that are apart of this community and we in no way want to corrupt them. So please, make the pictures tasteful and decent.
How do I change my interests and about me in my profile?
This is easier than you think. Go to your profile and click edit profile, a small box appears and you can change your about me and interests. Be sure to click save, so your about me and interests save to your profile. That’s it.
How do I change my password?
It's very easy to change your password for any reason you may have. Just go into edit account/profile and click on the link marked change password. Enter your current password then pick a new password and confirm that you have it spelled right. Then simply confirm change. Just make sure to note to yourself that you changed your password or you will have a hard time logging in next time with the old password.
