Is my computer safe during a thunderstorm?

Parasyte: Right now I have my computer hooked up to an extension cord, which is plugged into a surge protector. If a severe thunderstorm passes by, is my computer safe from damage, or does it need to be plugged directly into the surge protector?

How close to a screen is unsafe?

Parasyte: I have my computer hooked to a 37" LCD TV, and my keyboard and mouse were both wireless. But after my mouse broke on me, I moved to a wired keyboard and mouse, and am now just about two feet from the TV. Is that safe? Does size matter, or is this just the same as being two feet from a 20" ... (1 answer)

Has anyone had a bad experience with drive through car washes?

Kenbo: Are they really safe for your car? I love my car, but I'm so lazy. I don't have time to wash and detail my car. I usually use a car wash in town. I haven't noticed anything hurting my car. But I'm scared one day it will. (3 answers)
