Will Intel's Light Peak Interface Beat USB?

Intel's new Light Peak interface, introduced as the new standard port, could replace USB in a number of years. Offering transfer rates of 10Gb/s and expandable up to 100 Gb/s over the next decade light peak could revolutionize the way we connect peripheral devices. Not without criticism, however, OEMs point to possible shortcomings and the heavy task of usurping USB in suggesting the switch from copper connections to optics may come later than Intel thinks.

Breakfast is a next generation ad agency with a quirky disposition. This serves their clients well as they are gifted in developing off-center, captivating and curious campaigns. With the ability to use technology in unique and imaginative ways, Breakfast devises memorable online experiences. Whether it's a talking bicycle embarking on a coast to coast journey, or a blimp controlled by an iPad, Breakfast's unique approach is worth checking out.

Precious, the Bicycle with a Brain, was fitted with devices that allowed the bike to report what was happening from its own point of view. Developed to support a LiveStrong awareness campaign, the site allowed users to check in on Precious' 4,000 mile journey in real time. Events along the way were reported by the very precocious Precious and his rider Janeen.

We sat down with Breakfast's creative director Andrew Zolty to learn more about Precious and other projects his team has in the works.

Woody Sears - iStoryTime App

As a self described snowboarder, technology enthusiast, table tennis player, author and music connoisseur, Woody Sears is an iPhone app developer with a passion for children's books. Not only that, but his company FrogDog Media invented the technology to let children as young as two years old experience a digital story.

It comes as no surprise the name of that platform is iStoryTime, and has had a myriad of excellent publishers come on board. We were curious about the back story of iStoryTime, and he graciously fielded an interview.

bobbonew: The past 10 years has given rise to a myriad of technological marvels. From blu-ray to social networking on phones, its amazing the kind of technology and scientific prowess the world now possesses. Even in the early 90's it would have been impossible to predict the world as it is now.

bobbonew: The tech world is changing so quickly that 6 months is enough to make all your hardware superfluous. Murphy's law is growing exponentially, so we have to ask where do you think we'll be 5 years from now?

bobbonew: I have heard in the past that we as a society are being held back technologically. Personally my small minded opinion has been no, but that is not based on any factual means.
