How do I tell if my processor is single core, duel core, quad core etc?

Parasyte: I always thought it was a single core. Then I looked at the piece of junk computer at school. It's a dual core. I refuse to accept this.

What is csrss.exe?

Parasyte: I don't think I've ever seen it before, and the internet tells me it's either very important, or a virus. I don't THINK I've gotten a virus, but how can I be sure? (1 answer)

How come if I move icons around on my desktop, they go back to where they were when I turn the computer off, then back on?

Parasyte: I can't really find the right words for it, but I'll move some icons around on my desktop, then turn the computer off for the night, and when I turn it back on, they're back to where they were before I moved them.

Is there a way for me to sync my desktop and my laptop, even though they are on different operating systems?

Brian McKinnon: Running XP 64 bit on my desktop, and Vista 64 bit on my laptop.

and by sync, I mean if I am on my laptop for 5 hours, and wanted to leave it in the den, and went to my desktop in my room, I could pick up exactly what I was doing. (2 answers)
